Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist at TriStar Centennial Medical Center to provide pharmaceutical care for safe, effective drug therapy. You will monitor therapies, intervene as needed, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.

This role requires TN licensure or eligibility, hospital experience, and strong communication and computer skills. Relevant ACLS/BCLS certifications should be obtained within 60 months of start date.

Qualifications

• Current TN Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure.
• One-year hospital experience or equivalent.
• Hospital pharmacy residency preferred.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications within 60 months of start date.
• Doctorate or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care to ensure safe and effective drug therapy.
• Monitor and intervene in therapeutics to optimize outcomes.
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff on patient reactions and drug interactions.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and inventory management.
• Maintain documentation using computerized systems.
• Apply knowledge of age-specific patient needs in duties.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services. The Clinical Pharmacist delivers pharmaceutical care services by monitoring and intervening in therapeutics to provide optimum outcomes in a cost‑effective manner. The Clinical Pharmacist fulfills departmental responsibilities within the long‑range plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital.

What you will do in this role

• You will utilize good problem‑solving abilities, making sure that problems are resolved, calling on other knowledgeable parties as necessary.
• You will maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.
• You will consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints.
• You will determine and consult on possible drug interactions.
• You will assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• You will monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will utilize knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need

• Current TN Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure
• One‑year hospital experience or equivalent
• Hospital pharmacy residency preferred
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Doctorate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
