Job summary

TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care and oversight of drug therapy in a busy hospital setting in Kentucky. You will monitor therapies, intervene to optimize outcomes, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe medication use.

The ideal candidate will hold a KY Pharmacist license or be eligible, have 1 year of hospital experience or equivalent, and preferably complete a hospital pharmacy residency.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
  • Hospital pharmacy residency preferred.
  • Current KY Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure.
  • One-year hospital experience or equivalent.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications must be obtained within 60 months of start date.
  • Doctorate Degree or Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmaceutical care to ensure safe and effective drug therapy.
  • Monitor and intervene to optimize therapeutics and outcomes.
  • Consult with physicians and nursing staff on patient reactions and drug interactions.
  • Assist with quality improvement, inventory, and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
  • Document and communicate using computerized systems.
  • Apply age-specific considerations in patient care.

Education

Doctorate Degree or Bachelors
KY Pharmacist licensure or eligible
One-year hospital experience or equivalent
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services. The Clinical Pharmacist delivers pharmaceutical care services by monitoring and intervening in therapeutics to provide optimum outcomes in a cost-effective manner. The Clinical Pharmacist fulfills departmental responsibilities within the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will utilize good problem-solving abilities, making sure that problems are resolved, calling on other knowledgeable parties as necessary.
  • You will maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.
  • You will consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints.
  • You will determine and consult on possible drug interactions.
  • You will assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
  • You will monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • You will utilize knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current KY Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure
  • One-year hospital experience or equivalent
  • Hospital pharmacy residency preferred
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within60 monthsof employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within60 months of employment start date
