Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking a pharmacist to join its hospital pharmacy team in Georgia. The role involves distribution, compounding and monitoring of medications for diverse patient populations, with supervision of technicians and emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The pharmacist will review therapy plans, ensure appropriate dosing, and participate in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize outcomes throughout the care continuum.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited PharmD degree required.
• Georgia pharmacist license required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelors or higher in Pharmacy Required
