Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a licensed pharmacist to ensure safe and effective medication use across inpatient services. You will review, compound, dispense and monitor medication therapy for diverse patient ages, including dosing variations and nutrition considerations.

Responsibilities include supervising pharmacy technicians, maintaining competency, and engaging in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize therapy. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Georgia.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Overview

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
