Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Hospital Pharmacist to coordinate the pharmacy department under the Director of Pharmacy and ensure safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care for patients across units including ICU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, emergency, and oncology.

Qualifications include a current state Pharmacist License and hospital experience; a Doctor of Pharmacy is preferred. BLS/ACLS certifications are a plus. Competitive benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of the pharmacy department under the Director of Pharmacy to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care and patient safety.
• Oversee and ensure optimal medication use across hospital services such as General Medicine, ICU, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Emergency, Oncology, peri-operative, geriatrics and outpatient services.
• Support clinical pharmacy initiatives and contribute to Total Rewards and benefits discussions as part of the hospital team.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, coordinates the activities of the pharmacy department to provide the highest quality of pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital, while ensuring patient safety. The scope of patient care provided may include: General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Peri-operative, Geriatrics and Outpatient Services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current state Registered Pharmacist License.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy operations preferred.
• B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification preferred

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

• APhA Immunization Certification and BLS required.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $58.00 to $81.57. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
