Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital in La Palma, CA, is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to support the Medical Staff Office, handling credentialing applications, reappointments, proctoring and competencies.

The role interfaces with physicians and hospital management, requires strong computer, writing and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; 1–2 years of administrative experience preferred and CPCS is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years technical/administrative experience required.
  • Medical Staff Department experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer, communication, and writing skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates all aspects of credentialing for Medical Staff Departments.
  • Interfaces with physicians and hospital management staff in a positive, professional manner.
  • Supports assigned Medical Staff Departments as needed by the Director/Manager.

Ability to function in a demanding environment by navigating multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively supporting a busy Medical Staff Office. Responsible for assigned Medical Staff Departments as assigned by Director/Manager. Facilitates all aspects of credentialing, including applications, reappointments, proctoring and competencies. Interfaces with physicians and hospital management staff in a positive and professional manner

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years technical/administrative experience required.
  • Medical Staff Department experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer, communication, and writing skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical staff services and/or acute care hospital experience, preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $25.14 to $32.32. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
