Job summary

Ascension in Jacksonville, FL seeks a licensed Pharmacist to join the Critical Care Pharmacy team on rotating full-time schedules. You will review orders, advise physicians, mentor technicians, and educate patients to optimize safe medication use.

This role emphasizes patient safety, collaboration with medical staff, and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting efficient clinical operations in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy required. licensure or eligible.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
• Critical care experience preferred; residency training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review medication orders to ensure patient safety and resolve potential drug-related problems.
• Collaborate with physicians to select formulary alternatives and provide drug information.
• Oversee dispensing of medications and mentor pharmacy technicians to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Educate patients on medication therapies to promote safe and effective use.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assure patient safety and care quality by meticulously reviewing medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential drug-related problems.
• Optimize patient outcomes by collaborating with physicians to recommend appropriate formulary alternatives and providing expert drug information to the medical team.
• Oversee and mentor pharmacy technical personnel in the preparation and accurate dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Educate and counsel patients on their medication therapies, promoting effective and safe use for better health outcomes.
• Facilitate seamless clinical operations by ensuring the appropriate selection, dosing, and dispensing of all medication orders.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy required. licensure or eligible.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
