Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist to join our full-time team in Virginia. You will manage drug therapy protocols, review medication orders, and provide education to staff and patients. You will verify orders, supervise technicians, and participate in outpatient anticoagulation care.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required and active state license.
  • Registered with the state Board of Pharmacy; BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • Experience with outpatient anticoagulation clinics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders to identify and resolve issues.
  • Provides drug information and education to staff, patients, and students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for quality improvement.
  • Verifies medication orders prior to entry and oversees technicians.
  • Participates in anticoagulation clinic patient management and testing.
  • Engages in performance improvement and continuing education.

How You'll Contribute
  • A Pharmacist who excels in this role:
  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
  • Verifies medication orders for accuracy/completeness prior to entry; checks filled medications prepared by technicians; maintains proficiency with pharmacy automated systems and software.
  • Manages patients in an outpatient anticoagulation clinic, including point-of-care testing, result evaluation, dosing, and scheduling.
  • Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.

What we\'re looking for

Applicants should have a Doctor of Pharmacy

Additional Requirements Include
  • Registered with the state Board of Pharmacy
  • BLS required

Hourly Range: $58.07- $69.71
