Licensed Pharmacist – Long-Term Care Pharmacy

Pay Rate: $60–$65/hour

Schedule: Day, Evening, Overnight, and Weekend shifts available

Work Arrangement: On-Site

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Pharmacist to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy team in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

The pharmacist will play an important role in ensuring medication safety and appropriate therapy for patients served by long-term care facilities. This position involves reviewing medication orders, supervising medication preparation, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff, and resolving medication-related concerns.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for:
• Dosage and administration
• Potential drug interactions
• Overall medication appropriateness
• Ensure medications are accurately prepared, supplied, and properly labeled.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related questions and concerns.
• Supervise the preparation of medications.
• Review patient medication therapy and recommend appropriate therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when necessary.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related inquiries.
• Maintain accurate customer and patient databases, including:
• Medical history
• Clinical information
• Laboratory data
• Medication-related information
• Support medication safety and quality within the long-term care environment.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and follow applicable procedures and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Previous Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Kentucky-licensed pharmacist who is detail-oriented, clinically knowledgeable, dependable, and comfortable working in a Long-Term Care pharmacy environment. Previous LTC experience is preferred, while familiarity with the Frameworks LTC system would be an additional advantage.
