Job summary

The Purchase Associate for Pharmaceuticals at Upstate oversees the procurement of pharmaceutical goods and services for University Hospital and SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse. You will direct the procurement cycle, evaluate services for best purchasing practices, and ensure quality initiatives.

You will conduct cost analyses, bid evaluations, and negotiate terms, while preparing contract packages for NYS AG and OSC approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years procurement related experience or Associate's degree and four years procurement related experience required.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

Responsibilities

• Procure pharmaceutical goods and services for University Hospital and SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse.
• Direct and coordinate the procurement cycle; evaluate vendor performance and quality initiatives.
• Perform cost analyses and bid evaluations; prepare contract/bid packages for NYS AG and OSC approvals.
• Stay current with SUNY procurement rules and NYS procedures; ensure compliance and transparency.
