Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Greater Fort Washington, PA area

Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM with rotating on-call shifts – part of a team that shares on-call responsibilities.

Temp to Hire Pay: $36 - $40/hour depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate.

We are seeking a Facilities Mechanic experienced in highly regulated environments, especially pharmaceutical and research facilities. The ideal candidate will be skilled in equipment installation and repair, preventive maintenance, and facility upgrades.

Skills:

• Experience in pharmaceutical and/or research facility settings
• Knowledge of installing and maintaining systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler systems, cold storage, environmental/temperature control, and laboratory equipment
• Familiarity with OSHA, cGMP, and SOP compliance
• Proficiency in SAP, Building Management Systems (BMS), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and Microsoft Office
• High School Diploma required
• Associate’s degree or trade certifications are a plus

Licenses and Certifications (Desired):

• Certified HVAC Mechanic
• Certified Universal Refrigerant Mechanic
• Licensed Black Seal High-Pressure Boiler Operator

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain high-pressure and hot water boiler systems, as well as large-capacity chiller units
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facility layout
• Perform daily hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and HVAC servicing
• Monitor environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and static pressure in cleanroom and production areas
• Author and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance
• Install and maintain facility systems including electrical, plumbing, cold storage, and laboratory equipment

Additional Notes:

CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System): Software used to schedule and track maintenance, manage work orders, log equipment history, monitor inventory, and ensure regulatory compliance.

BMS (Building Management System): A computer-based control system that manages and monitors mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power, fire, and security systems.
