Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $28.70 - $43.03/hour. The hourly base rate may vary based on location, skills, and experience. Position may include additional compensation such as commissions or incentives.
Job Description

Fleet Services – A Cox Automotive Company keeps your fleet moving. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Fleet Services offers mobile on-site fleet maintenance for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, supported by over 50 nationwide service centers and a 24/7 call center. We are hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II.

The Mobile Diesel Technician II performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and diagnostics. They can handle more advanced repairs under supervision and continue to develop their skills and diagnostics techniques. The role requires compliance with company policies and high performance standards.

DUTIES:
  1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
  2. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck systems such as electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, and more.
  3. Diagnose, test, and repair equipment using various tools and instruments.
  4. Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
  5. Manage parts inventory and perform safety checks on company vehicles.
  6. Work effectively with clients, prioritize tasks, and document work accurately using company tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
  • OEM training and certifications preferred.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Must pass DOT background screening and physical; valid DOT medical card preferred.
  • Minimum age 21 due to interstate commerce regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Certifications:

  • Required: ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Preferred: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8/609 certifications.

  • Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform labor tasks.
  • Effective communication and tool selection skills.
