Job summary

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital equipment projects for pharmaceutical manufacturing, including chromatography, buffer formulation, virus filtration, and oligonucleotide synthesis systems.

You will manage from concept to validation, collaborate with customers and suppliers, and oversee installation, testing, and training at customer sites, ensuring quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical) required.
• 3–8 years’ experience building or operating process equipment (pharmaceuticals preferred).
• Ability to work onsite at Glenview, IL facility.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015 preferred) and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specification, design, manufacturing, qualification, and implementation of custom and standard capital equipment for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Manage customer project requirements from concept through validation, ensuring technical, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to select components, oversee assembly, and support commissioning and validation activities.
• Lead installation, testing, and training at customer sites while maintaining a strong customer-focused approach.
• Write and oversee project documentation, manuals, and validation packages.
