Job summary
Civica is seeking an Automation Engineer for the Petersburg, Virginia facility to support IT/OT automation initiatives in a sterile fill-finish manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot and enhance SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and data historian systems, and work under GMP/change-control regimes.
The role requires hands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens platforms, data integrity knowledge, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
- 3 years of Engineering/Automation experience or associate degree with 6+ years of experience
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, Data Integrity, and GAMP 5
- Experience in GMP environments, change control, nonconformance, CAPA and validation practices
- Hands-on with Allen Bradley (Studio 5000) or Siemens (TIA Portal) PLC platforms
- Experience with virtual environments (ESXi 7.0, VMware Workstation) or batch reporting
Responsibilities
- Support SCADA and PLC/HMI systems across the facility
- Troubleshoot Rockwell and Siemens PLCs and HMI applications
- Support Rockwell Data Historian, Asset Centre, FactoryTalk Directory
- Assist with SQL database administration and reporting
- Lead root-cause analyses and investigations of process-control issues
- Develop specifications, SOPs, and engineering standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers
- Ensure GMP-change control for automation changes
