Job summary
Civica in Petersburg, VA, is seeking an Automation Engineer II to support system automation initiatives in a GMP manufacturing environment at our new fill-finish facility. The role covers programming, installation, lifecycle management of manufacturing process controls, SCADA, PLCs (Rockwell/Siemens), HMIs, and networked automation, with collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Candidates should have 6+ years in engineering/automation or an equivalent combination, plus experience with data
Qualifications
- Master’s degree with 6+ years in engineering/automation, or bachelor’s with 8+ years in the field.
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, Data Integrity, and GAMP 5.
- Hands-on with major PLC platforms and troubleshooting of PLC/HMI in GMP settings.
- Experience in GMP, change control, nonconformance, CAPA, and validation practices.
Responsibilities
- Support and implement automation solutions across the facility.
- Troubleshoot Rockwell/Siemens PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Support database administration and SQL.
- Lead root cause analyses and incident investigations.
- Develop specifications, SOPs, test scripts, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet company expectations.
