Job summary

Moss Interactive, LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer I to support and troubleshoot process control systems in a GMP environment. The role involves SCADA systems, PLC/HMI programming, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable automation solution delivery.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Rockwell/Siemens PLCs and data historians, plus familiarity with FDA Data Integrity guidelines. On-site in Petersburg, VA with day and night shift coverage.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Engineering/Automation experience or 6+ years with an associate degree (Electrical or Computer Engineering).
• Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, Data Integrity, and GAMP 5.
• Experience in GMP environments, change control, nonconformance, corrective and preventive actions, and validation practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix/CompactLogix) Studio 5000 or Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal).
• Experience with virtual environments (ESXi 7.0+, VMware Workstation) or batch reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support SCADA/automation systems development and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot process control applications (PLC/ HMI) and assist junior engineers.
• Lead root cause analysis, incident investigations related to electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Develop specifications, SOPs, test scripts, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to meet company expectations.
