Job summary
Civica is hiring an Automation Engineer for the Petersburg, VA fill‑finish facility. The role supports IT/OT automation initiatives, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of manufacturing controls across aseptic filling lines, packaging equipment, and industrial networks.
The candidate will work with SCADA, PLCs (Rockwell/Siemens), HMIs, and data historians, ensuring regulatory compliance and robust change control. Strong problem‑solving and cross‑functional collaboration are essential.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in engineering/automation or 6+ years with relevant experience (Electrical/Computer Eng).
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 and Data Integrity in pharma.
- GMP environment experience, change control, CAPA, validation practices.
Responsibilities
- Support and implement automation solutions across the facility.
- Troubleshoot process control applications using PLC/HMI (Rockwell/Siemens).
- Assist with Rockwell Data Historian and FactoryTalk suites.
- Perform SQL database support and data validation.
- Develop specifications, SOPs, test scripts, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet expectations.
- Lead change control for automation changes and drive RCA investigations.
