Job Duties

We are excited to hire a PH Outreach Worker to work on one of our mobile units. This position’s primary duties will be coordination of services for clients on who seek services on the mobile units, including transporting to appointments, assistance with paperwork completion, working closely with two Community Service Boards to reduce barriers, provide education and training to clients, serve as a pseudo "case manager" to ensure clients are enrolled in appropriate services and can access social support resources. The selected candidate will need to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and be onsite at all events across all 8 of our localities, Bristol City, Washington County, Smyth County, Wythe County, Bland County, Carroll County, Galax City and Grayson County.


This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the Opioid Abatement Authority grant for a 12 month period ending June 30, 2027. The availability of funding is scheduled for review before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Technical Support Skills: Ability to follow protocols and instructions from licensed providers to provide technical support to medical and nursing staff.

  • Administrative Skills: Proficiency in administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing records, and providing general office coverage.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, including assisting clients with completing paperwork.

  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate patient records, files, and logs, and to prepare client education materials and packets.

  • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients, provide support, and address inquiries professionally and courteously.


Additional Considerations


  • Familiarity with basic clinical tasks such as taking patient measurements (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, height, weight)
