Job summary

University Physicians Association is seeking a qualified RN to coordinate the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at University Pulmonary & Critical Care, located within UT Medical Center. The role requires detail orientation and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced office setting.

The RN will assist physicians with assessment, treatment, and coordination of care for patients with Pulmonary Hypertension and related pulmonary conditions in the office/clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least six months of experience in a similar clinical setting is preferred.
• Minimum associate-level RN degree.
• Knowledge and ability to perform basic clinical skills - phlebotomy, injections, IV therapy, various testing as needed.
• Ability to adjust work pace to facilitate clinic flow.
• Skill in verbal communication.
• Ability to apply policies and procedures to daily scenarios and deal with a variety of challenges.
• Ability to work effectively with physician(s), patients, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient PH Clinic processes.
• Develop/implement PH protocols.
• Coordinate prescription management.
• Coordinate/facilitate patient transition from inpatient to outpatient.
• Coordinate nursing/staff PH education (Outpatient/Inpatient).
• PHA National Program and Committee Representative.
• PHAR Program Manager.
