Job summary

PGT Trucking, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA, is hiring Company Drivers to safely operate flatbed and specialized freight across regional and long-haul routes.

You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, secure loads, tarps as needed, and maintain accurate logs in compliance with FMCSA rules. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring a CDL Class A license and a professional approach with shippers and dispatch.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Truck Driving skills and experience operating commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
• CDL Class A license and ability to meet DOT standards.
• Clear Communication with dispatch, safety staff, and operations teams.
• Solid Customer Service skills to maintain positive relationships with shippers, receivers, and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with basic Truck maintenance checks (pre/post-trip inspections).
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks and drug/alcohol screenings.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules; flatbed experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, secure, and tarp loads; work in varying weather/road conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; prior professional driver experience beneficial.

Role Description

PGT Company Drivers are responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport flatbed and specialized freight to customer locations in accordance with all federal, state, and company regulations. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and tarping loads as required, following designated routes and schedules, and completing all necessary logs and documentation accurately. Drivers interact with customers and terminal personnel, maintain clear communication with dispatch, and represent PGT in a professional manner on and off the road. This is a full-time, on-site driving role based out of Pittsburgh, PA, which may include regional or long-haul assignments depending on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Truck Driving skills and experience operating commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe load securement practices; flatbed experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift, secure, and tarp loads and work in varying weather and road conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; prior experience as a professional truck driver is highly beneficial.
