Job summary

Petco is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide professional grooming services to clients and their pets in our California grooming salon. You will ensure each pet receives expert care, leaving them looking and feeling their best while upholding Petco standards.

Responsibilities include bathing, drying, brushing, trimming, and coordinating with pet parents on care. Weekend/evening availability is required; grooming tools and safety procedures are emphasized throughout the role.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of Pet Stylist Apprentice program or grooming training required.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services: bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, and styling.
• Operate and maintain grooming tools and equipment.
• Prioritize pet safety and comfort and report concerns to owners and management.
• Interact with pet parents, provide grooming recommendations and address questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the grooming area per Petco standards.
• May train or supervise entry-level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader.
