Petco is seeking a skilled Pet Stylist to deliver professional grooming services for our valued customers and their pets. The role emphasizes high standards of care, safety, and customer satisfaction in a bustling grooming salon.

You will bathe, trim, clip, and style pets while following breed guidelines and Petco policies, with emphasis on humane handling and client communication. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or prior grooming experience or completion of a technical grooming training program.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• Latitude for independent judgement and problem solving using grooming skills with guidance when needed.
• Results-driven with commitment to productivity and ownership of the grooming role.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, and dryers.
• Prioritize pet safety and well-being and communicate with pet parents and management.
• Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at-home care practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized grooming area and comply with Petco hygiene policies.
