Job summary

Petsense by Tractor Supply is seeking a Team Member to engage customers, support selling initiatives, and perform a variety of tasks while delivering legendary customer service. The role involves operating the POS, stocking, merchandising, and caring for live animals in a busy retail setting.

You may work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, with emphasis on reliability, teamwork, and safety. Prior pet knowledge and basic computer skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience: No experience required. Retail experience and/or pet/live animal knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, Team Members must be able to read, write and count accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts with varied hours, including nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM): thank the customer, engage with the customer and/or pet, advise products or services, make it memorable.
• Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.
• Recovery of merchandise and participate in freight process.
• Execute to completion Plan-o-gram procedures (merchandising, sets, resets) and assemble merchandise.
• Perform janitorial duties, execute price changes/markdowns, assist customers with loading purchases.
• Ensure safety and well-being of live animals; sanitize and maintain holding tanks and care for live animals as required.
• Handle and care for all live animals including their food, bedding and habitat.
• Complete all documentation associated with any of the above duties.
• Team Members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
