The ideal candidate loves pets, learns quickly, and enjoys helping people, connecting with customers, and making appropriate product recommendations while supporting the team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No minimum education or formal training required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly accountable, ethical, with strong integrity.
• Ability to thrive in an active retail and service environment with shifting focus and priorities.
• Comfortable with computers and learning new systems; basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs independently; team lift for heavier items.
• Active role requiring standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage with customers through the full shopping experience.
• Provide product recommendations and grooming/retail knowledge.
• Address questions and concerns promptly; escalate when appropriate.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and perform basic math.
• Follow procedures for deposits, cash handling, and end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Learn inventory processes including receiving, stocking, rotation, and facing.
• Keep the sales floor stocked and merchandised to company standards.
• Assist with promotions, signage updates, and customer communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness and participate in training and meetings.
• Support onboarding of new associates and adherence to policies.
