Job summary

Mud Bay is seeking a Store Lead in Bellingham, WA. The role focuses on leading store operations, driving customer-friendly service, and promoting animal health through education and holistic solutions.

The position requires flexibility across 4 locations and weekend scheduling, with base pay starting at $21.04 per hour and a range to $24.20. The Store Lead will supervise daily activities, train staff, manage inventory, and ensure a welcoming, high-quality shopping experience for dog and cat

Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven leadership experience or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift to 45 pounds.
• Experience leading a team required.
• Delegation, coaching and mentoring others through tasks.
• Ability to give and receive feedback.
• Ability to identify top business and people needs and prioritize.
• Flexibility to adapt to a work schedule that reflects the needs of customers, coworkers and Mud Bay.

Responsibilities

• Provides a happy, educational, and fun experience for all who visit our stores.
• Engages dog and cat owners in conversation and helps them find solutions for their animals.
• Contributes to sales growth by providing holistic solutions for long-term animal health.
• Performs transactions at the point of sale and handles cash and financial procedures accurately.
• Leads, trains, and supports the team to maintain clean, organized, and attractive store areas.
• Maintains inventory through receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing the store.
• Ensures accurate stocking levels and on-hand quantities for a fully stocked store.
• Communicates with the manager and leadership team to support staff development and needs.
• Opens and closes the store, leading the team during the day.
• Comfortable with retail scheduling, including multiple shifts and coverage at several locations.
