Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Key Holder to support daily store operations, supervise Partners, and act as a key point of contact when management is absent.

You will open/close the store, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain a safe environment for pets and people. The role emphasizes on-floor leadership, problem-solving in real time, and delivering a great customer experience every day, including merchandising and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required.
• Key holder or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store while following cash handling, safety, and security protocols.
• Support daily store operations including sales, task execution, and recovery.
• Execute merchandising standards, including planograms, pricing accuracy, signage, and promotional setups.
• Assist with inventory activities such as restocking, cycle counts, inventory integrity, and required paperwork.
• Identify out-of-stocks or merchandising issues and communicate with store leadership.
• Provide guidance to partners during assigned shifts and lead on the floor.
