Job summary

Petco in California is seeking a dedicated Key Holder to help ensure smooth daily operations, exceptional customer service, and a secure environment for pets, partners, and customers.

You will support store leadership by supervising partners, opening and closing the store, and serving as a point of contact when management is not present. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading on the floor and solving problems on the fly.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and cash handling experience.
• Reliable, responsible and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and manage daily operations when leadership is absent.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and guide partners on the sales floor.
• Support merchandising, pricing, and promotions with accuracy.
• Assist with inventory counts and restocking.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment for pets, customers, and staff.
• Lead on-floor while coordinating with store leadership when needed.
