Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers of Colorado (RMCC) in Denver seeks an experienced Radioactive Materials Licensing Physicist (PET Imaging) for a part-time, 20–24 hour/week role. You will oversee licensing, compliance, and technical support for radioactive materials used in PET imaging and related nuclear medicine services.

Responsibilities include preparing licenses, renewals, and amendments; ensuring NRC/Agreement State and other regulatory compliance; supporting the Radiation Safety Officer;

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics, Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Specialized training and experience in PET imaging, theranostics, and radioactive materials licensing.
  • Eligible for or certified by an appropriate professional board (e.g., ABR, ABHP) as applicable.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in nuclear medicine or PET-related radiation safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee licensing, compliance, and technical support for radioactive materials use in PET, CT, theranostics and related nuclear medicine services.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain licenses, amendments, renewals, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC, Agreement State, FDA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support Radiation Safety Officer activities including incident investigation and reporting.
  • Conduct radiation safety training and competency assessments for staff.
  • Perform radiation exposure monitoring and dose assessment; review workflows for ALARA.
