Job summary

IndyHumane in Carmel, IN seeks a Pet Resource Center Coordinator to support animal intake and resource services. You will coordinate intake appointments, assist with owner surrenders and transports, and maintain accurate animal records, providing compassionate, professional help to the public.

You will collaborate with Medical, Enrichment, and shelter teams to move animals efficiently through intake, share information, and support community education and resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of professional experience in a customer service-related field.
• Previous animal-handling experience.
• Must be comfortable routinely handling animals being admitted to the shelter.
• Experience working directly with the public in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain the Pet Resource Center intake schedule.
• Schedule surrender, transfer, and intake appointments according to procedures.
• Enter accurate intake information into shelter management systems and maintain records.
• Assist patrons and transporters with bringing animals, carriers, and supplies into the facility.
• Communicate animal information promptly to Medical, Enrichment, and Operations teams.
• Provide professional, compassionate customer service to patrons and the public.
• Support data entry and documentation for animal records and services.
• Collaborate with other shelter departments to ensure smooth animal movement through intake processes.
