Job summary

Independence Pet Holdings seeks a Business Development Executive to identify, pursue, and close new distribution partnerships for PTZ Pet Insurance across agencies, brokers, MGAs/MGUs, affinity groups, and embedded platforms in North America.

The role is hybrid with a base in New York City or Chicago. You will own end-to-end deal cycles, coordinate with legal, product, underwriting, and operations, and drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or channel sales in insurance/insurtech or related industries.
• Proven ability to build a pipeline from scratch and close deals independently.
• Strong understanding of agency, broker, MGA/MGU, affinity, and embedded distribution models.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a multi-stage pipeline of distribution partners across target segments.
• Source and qualify new partnership opportunities through outbound prospecting and referrals.
• Negotiate terms and close deals, coordinating with legal, product, underwriting, and operations.
• Track pipeline health and report progress against targets.
