Job summary

Petco seeks a Pet Stylist to deliver professional grooming services for Pets, ensuring high-quality care and customer satisfaction. You’ll work with breed-standard grooming, maintain grooming equipment, and support pet parents with care instructions.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and the ability to train or assist entry-level trainees when needed. Weekend/evening availability is required for scheduling.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to use grooming skills and knowledge to solve routine to moderately complex situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, and styling.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments (clippers, blades, shavers, brushes, dryers).
• Prioritize safety and well-being of each animal and communicate with pet parents.
• Adapt grooming to breed standards and coat types; assess temperament and needs.
• Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at-home care.
