Petco is seeking a skilled Pet Stylist to deliver expert grooming services for a range of dog breeds. You will bathe, dry, cut and style coats while ensuring pet safety and customer satisfaction. The role emphasizes high standards, teamwork, and ongoing growth within the grooming salon.

You will work with a supportive team, follow Petco policies, and may mentor entry-level trainees. Weekend availability is often required, with opportunities for career development within the grooming department.

Qualifications

• Completion of Pet Stylist Apprentice program or equivalent grooming training.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred; strong grooming foundations.
• Experience as a professional groomer or completion of a grooming program is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services: bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning.
• Operate grooming tools: clippers, blades, shears, brushes, dryers.
• Prioritize animal safety and welfare; monitor for discomfort or health issues.
• Interact with pet parents to offer grooming recommendations and excellent service.
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and follow sanitation policies.
• Train or supervise entry-level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader.
