Job summary

Petco is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide professional grooming services for our customers' pets. You will ensure each pet receives exceptional care and leaves looking and feeling their best.

The role includes bathing, drying, styling, nail trimming, and maintaining high grooming standards. We value passion for animals, strong communication with pet parents, and ability to work weekends/evenings/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the grooming schedule.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, brushes and dryers.
• Prioritize safety and well-being of pets and communicate with pet parents about grooming needs and recommendations.
• Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at-home care products.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area in accordance with Petco policies.
• Train or support entry-level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader.
