Job summary

Petco in the grooming salon is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide professional grooming services, including bathing, trimming, nails and styling, while ensuring safety and high-quality care for every pet. Build lasting client relationships and follow Petco policies and standards.

Ideal candidates have the Pet Stylist Apprentice program or grooming experience; a HS diploma is preferred. Availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Pet Stylist Apprentice program or professional grooming experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, with ability to problem solve and follow guidance.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services: bathing, drying, brushing, cuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments: clippers, blades, shears, brushes, and dryers.
• Prioritize pet well‑being and safety; monitor for discomfort or illness and report concerns.
• Engage professionally with pet parents, provide grooming recommendations and timely resolutions to questions.
• Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at home care products.
