Pet Snacks Sales Manager - Home based anywhere in the U.S.

Position Overview

A Global, Fast Growing and Publicly Traded Manufacturing Leader and known for producing essential products for the food industry is currently seeking to hire a highly skilled SALES MANAGER with a National focus for its Pet Snacks Division. This position is remote based and will travel to visit new and existing clients at their sites. Will be responsible for managing and serving clients across the United States in the achievement of the objectives of the business. This will be accomplished primarily through participation in the development of the strategic business plan and the resultant effective integration within the USA. Maintain and manage sales that achieves budgeted sales objectives. Develop and maintain working relationships with a broad range of key contacts at assigned customers. Focused on expanding the market share of the organization by selling Pet Snacks Products to Pet Food Major Chains, Retailers, Distributors and Operators. This position reports directly to the Pet Snack Division General Manager.

We’re looking for a high performing sales leader with proven experience in pet snacks, pet food, or pet related products, someone who can drive growth within the Pet Snack or Pet Food market, build strong customer relationships, and lead with passion in a dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities:

1.- Participate in the successful launch of the Commercial Pet Snack Division in the United States for the organization.

2.- Expand the organization market share by managing the business development and by identifying new business opportunities, customers and targeted accounts.

3.- Increase sales by contacting and developing new commercial relationships at a National level with Pet Food Retailers, Distributors and Operators.

4.- This role is primarily focused on Business Development 80%, with the remaining 20% to Account Management.

5.- Sales Target: Add $3M+ USD in sales growth in Year 1.

6.- Shared responsibility for business planning through participation in the budgeting process by providing short and long term sales forecasts. Will have responsibility for managing costs within budgets for assigned industries and accounts targets and customers.

7.- Manage the sales pipeline: from identifying new business opportunities and customers and targeted accounts to regular sales, mobilizing people and coordinating their activities to effectively achieve success.

8.- Increase sales within the U.S. territory by increasing volume with existing and new customers, increasing scope of products used at existing customers, contacting and developing new commercial relationships.

9.- Achieve and exceed sales budgets.

10.- Prioritize sales opportunities in order to achieve the sales growth expected.

11.- High cooperation with TS, R&D, CS, SCM into this process.

12.- Maintain frequent and effective communication with the service organization to provide clear and accurate instructions, when necessary.

13.- Coordinate with the local diversification unit to jointly identify, manage and cross-sell company diversified product portfolio applicable to the pet food industry.

14.- Manage targeted accounts and customer relationships.

15.- Resolve customer problems and concerns through proactive personal efforts. Develop effective plans to resolve customer problems by effective utilization of internal resources.

16.- Collects information on product performance, market trends, and competitive developments.

17.- Maintains knowledge of product profitability and specific product emphasis.

18.- This position requires approximately 70% travel to prospective and existing client sites, supporting client engagement, territory coverage, and business development initiatives.

Requirements:

1.- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.

2.- Proven experience dealing and selling Pet Snacks or Pet Food products to Pet Food Major Chains and Retailers, Distributors and Operators, including selling to Purchasing and C-Level.

3.- 5+ years of experience as a Sales Manager with a National focus within the Pet Snacks, Pet Food, or Pet related products is a Must to be considered.

4.- Strong expertise in sales strategy, pricing concepts, and product portfolio management.

5.- Will have an in-depth knowledge of the theories and practices of sales functions. Will be an expert in own field, inside and outside the organization, and have expertise in pricing concepts and product portfolio management skills and experience.

6.- Must be an excellent team player who is a self-starter. Incumbent must be highly motivated and be an affirmative advocate for our customers.

7.- Specialized knowledge: Pet Snacks or Pet Food background and knowledge.

8.- Skills: MS Office-advanced level; CRM Tools-medium/high level.

9.- Well-developed communication and diplomacy skills.

10.- Languages: English-required / Spanish is a plus.

11.- Prior experience launching a Commercial Pet Snack or Pet Food Division in the United States is a big plus.
