Siemens Healthineers AG seeks a Detector Scientist specializing in PET Detector Physics. You will engage in research, development, and experimental validation of next-generation detector technologies for PET imaging systems.

The role combines hands-on lab work with data analysis and collaboration across R&D teams. The candidate will design and test detector systems, perform performance characterizations, and contribute to technology roadmap while supporting product lifecycle activities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
• Post-doc or post-PhD R&D in PET/SPECT or detector development is preferred.
• Strong understanding of radiation detection principles and experimental techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D on advanced PET detector technologies and radiation detection systems.
• Design, build, test, and characterize detector systems and lab prototypes.
• Plan feasibility studies, simulations, and experimental evaluations of detector performance.
• Investigate scintillators, photosensors, electronics, and signal processing options.
• Perform detector performance measurements including timing and energy resolution.
• Develop experimental methods and data acquisition for validation.
• Analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and propose design improvements.
• Support detector development through product lifecycle and cross-functional collaboration.
• Collaborate with external partners and document findings in reports and papers.
