Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG in the United States seeks a Systems Engineer - Applied Physicist to lead the system-level PET/CT image formation chain from data acquisition through reconstruction and final image quality. You will drive integration, performance testing, and validation across imaging physics, software, hardware, and clinical applications.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, CS, Medical Physics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in medical imaging, preferably PET/CT or PET/MR.
• Strong imaging physics and quantitative image analysis skills.
• Experience with system-level testing and image quality evaluation.
• Programming experience for scientific computing and data analysis.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and global teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%).

Responsibilities

• Own system-level integration of the PET/CT image formation chain from acquisition to clinical images.
• Lead early system performance testing and troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, software, and imaging physics.
• Design and execute image quality and system performance tests with quantitative methods.
• Evaluate new technologies and translate methods into practical system capabilities.
• Lead conception, realization, integration, and validation of new functionality throughout the lifecycle.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, and validation criteria for new features.
• Partner with Physics, Software, Hardware, Systems Engineering, Clinical, and Product Management teams.
• Investigate and resolve complex customer and field image quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor colleagues on imaging physics and system performance.
