Job summary

Shields Health Care Group seeks a PET Technologist to perform advanced PET/CT imaging, including brain imaging research protocols, using tracers like PSMA, Ga-68 NetSpot, and Illuccix. Travel between Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital (Wells) is required.

The role requires NRC/state compliance, ARRT/NMTCB certification, and at least 1 year in nuclear medicine. Excellent patient interaction and IV skills are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have an active state license to practice in the employed state.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB registration is required.
• CPR certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 1 year of nuclear medicine experience.
• Proficient in starting IVs and patient preparation.
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and assist patients.

Responsibilities

• Follow Shields Health Care Group policies to ensure patient safety.

• Perform hot lab responsibilities and prepare documentation.
• Position patients for comfort and maintain contact during exams.
• Record data in the Tech Data Entry system and issue films.
• Transmit PET data to Radiologist after exams; refilm when needed.

Job Summary:

$20,000.00 Sign-on Bonus available!! In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.

• Perform advanced PET/CT imaging procedures, including participation in brain imaging & neurologic research protocols supporting innovative clinical studies.
• Utilize specialty PET radiotracers such as PSMA, Ga-68 NetSpot, and Illuccix, expanding expertise beyond standard FDG imaging.

This shift for this role requires travel to two locations, Central Maine Medical Center: Monday 6:00am - 7:30pm, York Hospital in Wells: Wednesday 7am-8pm Central Maine Medical Center: Friday- 6:00am - 7:30pm

Job Description:

What you will do

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
• Must be certified in CPR
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description:

Pay range for this position is $40 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
