Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in the United States seeks a Systems Engineer - Applied Physicist to lead the system-level integration and performance of the PET/CT image formation chain, from data acquisition to clinical image quality. You will drive early performance testing, quantify imaging quality, and validate new functionality across physics, software, and hardware teams.

The role combines imaging physics, systems engineering, and clinical applications in a leadership, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in medical imaging, preferably PET/CT or related technologies.
• Strong background in imaging physics and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the system-level integration of the PET/CT image formation chain.
• Lead early system performance testing and troubleshoot across hardware, firmware, software, and physics.
• Design and execute image quality and performance tests with quantitative methods.
• Evaluate new technologies and translate into actionable system capabilities.
• Define requirements, interfaces, and validation criteria for new functionality.
• Collaborate with Physics, Software, Hardware, Systems Engineering and Product teams.
