Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PET/CT technologist who communicates effectively with patients, explains procedures clearly, and ensures comfort, safety, and high-quality imaging throughout the PET/CT study.

You will interpret physician orders, select suitable software options and imaging parameters to produce diagnostic-quality results that support accurate diagnoses and confident treatment planning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree preferred).
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications and maintaining radiation safety regulations.
• Perform aseptic injection technique and handle radioactive materials with proper documentation.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images and effectively communicate results with patients and radiologists.
• Train new technologists and support PCs.
• Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment including monitors, PACS, and coils.
• Work flexibly at multiple locations such as freestanding outpatient centers, mobile units, and hospital-based facilities.
