Job summary

National Veterinary Associates’ Animal Health Center of Madison in Madison, MS is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to care for boarding, grooming, and hospitalized patients. You’ll join a supportive team and gain hands-on experience in veterinary care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• No prior animal care experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for animals in the hospital and boarding facility.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment (kennels, cages, runs, wards).
• Bathing and basic grooming of pets.
• Monitor animal behavior and alert veterinary staff of any concerns.
• Assist team members with basic handling and animal husbandry.
• Support a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Frequently lift and carry patients weighing 50 lbs., and walk/handle patients weighing up to 150 lbs.
• Ability to work independently on tasks/duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.
