Animal Health Center of Madison is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate veterinary team in Madison, MS. You will care for hospitalized and boarding pets, maintain a clean, safe environment, and assist the veterinary staff as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for hospital and boarding animals.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, runs, and wards.
  • Bathing and basic grooming of pets.
  • Monitor animal behavior and alert veterinary staff as needed.
  • Assist team members with handling and animal husbandry.
  • Support a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Frequently lift and carry patients up to 50 lbs and up to 150 lbs for walks/handling.
  • Work independently on tasks as directed by supervisor.

Located in the heart of Madison, MS, we are a full-service small animal hospital committed to providing innovative, high-quality care for pets and exceptional service to our clients. About The Role

As a Kennel Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and safety of our boarding, grooming, and hospitalized patients. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to gain hands‑on experience in animal care.

Responsibilities Include
  • Providing daily care, feeding, and exercise for animals in the hospital and boarding facility
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment (kennels, cages, runs, wards)
  • Bathing and basic grooming of pets
  • Monitoring animal behavior and alerting veterinary staff of any concerns
  • Assisting team members with basic handling and animal husbandry
  • Supporting a positive, team-oriented culture
  • Frequently lift and carry patients weighing 50 lbs., and walk/handle patients weighing up to 150 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks/duties assigned by your immediate supervisor
