Job summary

Animal Health Center of Madison in Madison, MS is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate team. You’ll help with daily care, feeding, and comfort for boarding, grooming, and hospitalized patients, while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

No prior veterinary experience is required—training is provided, and a strong work ethic is valued in our fast-paced, team-driven clinic committed to quality pet care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, feeding and exercise for animals in hospital and boarding.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment (kennels, cages, runs, wards).
• Bathing and basic grooming of pets.
• Monitor animal behavior and alert veterinary staff of concerns.
• Assist team members with basic handling and animal husbandry.
• Support a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Frequently lift and carry patients weighing up to 50 lbs., and up to 150 lbs. to walk/handle.
• Work independently on duties assigned by supervisor.
