Job summary

Banfield is seeking a Paraprofessional to support veterinary teams in coordinating client and pet flow, education, and care. You will assist veterinarians and technicians, handle client intake and documentation, and contribute to efficient, high-quality service for wellness plans.

The role includes educating clients on preventive care, processing invoices, dispensing medications, and maintaining pet records. Strong customer service and safety practices are required.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Perform the duties of a CSC and/or veterinary assistant/technician, which may include: actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services; manage routing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
• Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive and efficiently run hospital to support wellness plan clients.
• Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, educate clients about pet health, perform/prep procedures, monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed in state acts.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and hospital services.
• Assist incoming clients with documentation, enter pet information and history, ensure prompt service.
• Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispense medications, sell retail products and schedule future appointments.
• Manage finances with accurate balances and proper opening/closing procedures.
• Act as extra eyes, ears and hands for veterinarian and vet tech to maximize productivity and communicate with associates.
• Obtain information/history from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Ensure safety of pets, clients and associates using safe restraining techniques.
