Job summary

The City of Casper, through Metro Animal Services, is seeking a part-time Kennel Technician to support animal care operations and facility upkeep. The role involves cleaning kennels, assisting with intake and adoptions, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for animals and visitors.

You will also handle cash transactions, data entry, medication administration, and basic health monitoring, with emphasis on compassionate service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Six months in a customer service role preferred.
• Ability to learn cashiering methods and data entry.
• Basic health and sanitation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect animal holding areas and facility spaces.
• Assist with stray animal intake and adoption paperwork.
• Handle cash, collect fees, and manage daily cash drawers.
• Care for animals: medications, microchips, vaccinations, wounds, and exercise.
• Monitor animal health and report concerns to supervisor.
• Enter information into databases and maintain records.
• Monitor inventory and report supply needs.
• Provide general customer service and public information.
• Transport animals to veterinary appointments as needed.
• Represent the City of Casper in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
