Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a Key Holder for our Pet Care Center retail environment. You will lead on the floor, supervise partners, open and close the store, and deliver a great experience for customers and pets.

This role requires prior retail experience, leadership ability, and strong communication. You’ll help maintain merchandising standards, handle cash, and support store leadership while creating a welcoming, safe space for families and their companions.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required; key holder or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions.
• Reliable, responsible, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Petco’s animal care standards and ensure safety and proper handling of animals.
• Promote a safe, welcoming environment for pets, pet parents, and partners.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to animal welfare, safety, and store operations.
• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service to every customer.
• Support and supervise store partners, helping maintain productivity and morale.
• Assist with training new partners and reinforce best practices on the sales floor.
• Open and close the store following cash handling, safety, and security protocols.
• Execute merchandising standards, including planograms, pricing accuracy, signage, and promotional setups.
• Assist with inventory activities and communicate issues to store leadership.
• Address customer questions and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
