Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to support the veterinary team in preparing treatment rooms, restraining pets when needed, and educating clients on preventive care and wellness plans. You will assist with in-house lab tests and maintenance of hospitalized patients, ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.

The role involves standing for long periods, working weekends/evenings, and complying with hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x‑ray) and exposure to radioactive substances.
• One year of related experience preferred with customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room for examination of pets and supplies for the veterinarian.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Provide client education regarding preventive care and overall wellness plans.
• Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests as allowed by state rules.
• Maintain the comfort and care of hospitalized patients.
• Clean the surgical suite and instruments.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness including laundry, dishes, and waste removal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
