Job summary

Destination Pet LLC is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead our team at Pet Me Scrach Me - Onalaska. This role reports to the General Manager and plays a key part in delivering outstanding customer service, salesmanship, and care for our pet guests.

You will supervise center staff, schedule shifts, ensure compliance with labor laws, manage inventory, and promote Destination Pet’s programs in the community.

Qualifications

• Associate or BS/BA is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year management experience in hospitality, service or retail.
• Strong problem-solving, discretion and professional interaction with staff and customers.
• Proficiency with MS Office and database apps.

Responsibilities

• Supports mission, vision, culture and policies of Destination Pet.
• Ensures delivery of exceptional customer service and salesmanship.
• Collaborates with support staff regularly (Operations, HR, Marketing, Facilities, Legal).
• Manages center staff: motivate, recruit, hire, train, promote, coach/counsel, terminate when needed.
• Schedules staff to balance service quality and payroll budget.
• Ensures compliance with federal/local labor laws (OSHA, EEOC, ADA, Fair Labor Practices).
• Maintains inventory and reorders supplies; oversees center maintenance needs.
• Promotes and markets Destination Pet programs and services in the community.
• Serves as manager onsite when General Manager unavailable.
