The Pet Care Assistant position cares for pets in our hospital and kennel. Some of the responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Providing daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising
• Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, cages, and work areas to maintain a healthy environment
• Monitoring the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or veterinarian
• Preparing animals for surgery by shaving, cleaning, and disinfecting surgical sites
• Monitoring anesthesia, vital signs, and patient status during surgery
• Providing post-operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing pain, and dressing wounds
• Cleaning and sanitizing surgical instruments
