Job summary

VCA Briarcliff Animal Hospital seeks an experienced Boarding Supervisor to lead our boarding department and mentor the Animal Care Attendants. The role blends hands-on pet care with team leadership and administrative duties.

You will coordinate boarding reservations, safety, and daily husbandry, while working closely with veterinarians and technicians to ensure top-quality care for medical boarders and hospitalized pets. A flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care (boarding, kennel, dog daycare, or veterinary hospital) required.
• Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 pounds for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the boarding department; train, mentor, coach, and schedule staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized boarding environment; monitor supplies.
• Communicate with clients about reservations, needs, and medication instructions.
• Coordinate care with veterinary doctors/technicians for medical boarders.
• Assist with daily husbandry duties: cleaning, feeding, walking, bathing, and laundry.
